FANNIE JO GALES

Fannie Jo Gales, 91, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was born on September 16, 1925 in Ravia, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of John L. and Mary Belle (Hayes) Mixon. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at her residence in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family.

    She married her best friend, Lee Samuel Gales on December 25, 1942 in Mobeetie, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1994.

    Fannie will be remembered and loved by all of those who… knew her. She always enjoyed helping anyone in need. She never met a stranger. Fannie loved to work for the church. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Her final words to everyone would be “I’ll love you always and forever, no matter what”.    

    Fannie attended Freewill Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  

    Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Ural Cemetery in Beckham County, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.

     Fannie is survived by her son, James Gales and his wife, Irene of Elk City, Oklahoma; five daughters, Shirley Crumm and her husband, Robbie of Dill City, Oklahoma, Kay Jones and her husband, Jerry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Betty Merriman of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Judy Elrod and her husband, Freddie of Grove, Oklahoma, and Sharon Tollison and her husband, Robin of Grove, Oklahoma; thirty-five grandchildren, fifty-six great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.

     She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Gales; her parents, John and Mary Mixon; three brothers, three sisters, two sons, Ronald Glenn Gales and Johnnie Lean Gales; two daughters, Teresa Rose Gales, and Joanna Long; daughter-in-law, Beth Gales; one granddaughter, Beth Ann Wilson; grandson-in-law, Jason Hedge; great-grandson, Malaki Andrew Davis; and a host of nieces and nephews.
