Cassidy Brigh

What do you love about your mutt?

Brigh came into my life as a small, horribly abused 4 month old puppy. He had been found wondering the streets by local animal control officers with some horrific injuries and trauma. Initially a critical needs foster (we had to take off his front left leg, as you can tell in the photo), he quickly wiggled his way into my heart with his incredible joy for life and never-say-quit attitude. Once I realized that not only had I purchased dozens of sweaters to help keep his numerous stiches protected, but had set up his own Instagram account (@cassidy_brigh) I realized that he had quietly transitioned from foster pup to family member!! Not once does he allow his missing leg to interfere with his gleeful approach to life, and this little tripawd nutcase has been running and romping literally from the first day he joined my household (first as a foster and now as a forever member of the crazy pack). He has helped so many subsequent foster dogs and cats feel at home and welcome thanks to his infectious enthusiasm and playful demeanor. Brigh is a constant reminder of the amazing ability of people and animals to overcome and heal from adversity and what can be achieved regardless of the challenges that life hands us. I know that no matter how bad a day I have had, there is a small bright fluffball of love ready to lead the welcoming charge of pups when I return home!! By the way, his formal name, Cassidy Brigh, is a combination of a Gaelic name that I believe means "Strength" plus his first name in honor of Hopalong Cassidy!
